Connecting with and serving our local community
Our Community Centre was created in in 1992 by the St Heliers Presbyterian Church desiring to share our considerable resources and facilities to connect with and serve our local community.
Today, 30 years on, St Heliers Church and Community centre is known for its quality facilities and outstanding hospitality catering to a wide range of people of all ages participating in community classes, social activities, learning, health and wellbeing, arts, music, drama and more.
In 2012, St Heliers Presbyterian Church took on the management of the Glendowie Comunity Centre (based at Crossfield Reserve). Both the St Heliers and Glendowie Centres are part of the Auckland City Network of Community Centres, receiving a funding contribution from Auckland Council. More than 80 000 people enjoy our Centres’ outstanding facilities each year.
